Who can practice yoga?
What equipment do I need?
Q: What should I wear?
A:
You can wear any comfortable clothing that allows you to move unrestricted. Natural fibres are better than synthetic. Yoga is practiced with bare feet, but you may wear socks for relaxation.
Q: Can I eat before a class?
A:
Ideally, you should leave two hours between eating a meal and your practice. However, you may have a light snack up to half an hour before your lesson.
Q: I'm not very flexible, does it matter?
A:
No. Some people are more flexible than others, but you don't have to be flexible to practice yoga. Everyone practices comfortably within their limits. Over time, you'll notice many beneficial changes - such as feeling calmer, stronger and more flexible.
Q: I'm pregnant, can I still attend your class?
A:
Yes, you can. There will be some postures and breathing techniques you shouldn't practice, but I will instruct you accordingly and offer you alternative ways to practice as necessary.
Q: Who can practice yoga?
A:
My classes are suitable for beginners and those who have practiced yoga before to intermediate level. Anyone can practice yoga, regardless of age, flexibility or level of fitness. Yoga is non-competitive and you simply practice at your own pace. All are welcome.
Q: What equipment do I need?
A:
All you need is a non-slip yoga mat and a warm blanket for relaxation. There are mats we can use at the schools, so don't worry if you don't have your own yoga mat. A yoga block is useful, but not essential.
